D3 Men’s Basketball President Athletic Conference Roundup

By: Emily Bondi

The President Athletic Conference (PAC) especially in men’s basketball is always unpredictable. The wide range of talent for all the teams makes it a competitive field. The players come out and compete and leave it all on the court.

The 2019-2020 season is just underway and at the top of the Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was voted on by the league's nine head coaches is Saint Vincent with 65 points. A tie for second place with 64 points is Westminster and Grove City. W&J comes in fourth with 45 points followed by Geneva with 41 points, Chatham with 35 points and Thiel in 7th with 32 points. The bottom two are Waynesburg with 31 points and Bethany with 19 points.

Chatham who comes in 6th place in the poll won last year's PAC Championship Tournament title with a 64-61 win over Westminster College at Buzz Ridl Gymnasium in New Wilmington, Pa.

This year the PAC Championship Tournament will begin its quarterfinal round on February 25, 2020. The semifinals are scheduled for Thursday, February 27 with the championship title game slated for Saturday, February 29.

Without a doubt the season is in anyone’s court. Be sure to check out the PAC website here to follow along with game schedules, statistics and more.
